On 08 and 09 November 2017, the Third Military Region of Côte d'Ivoire, including Bouaké, hosted the second phase of the seminar on the theme "Dissemination and Appropriation of the Code of Ethics and Military Deontology".

Organized by the African Coordination of Human Rights for the Armed Forces (CADHA), in collaboration with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Côte d'Ivoire, and in partnership with the World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy (WFM) -IFP), the main objective of this seminar was to strengthen the capacity of the Armed Forces of Côte d'Ivoire (FACI) in Human Rights, International Humanitarian Law, on the major articulations of the Code of Ethics and Military Deontology , and on the principles of International Criminal Justice.

In a context where the Third Military Region was for several years the epicenter of military sedition, and that the beginning of 2017 was sadly marked by these so-called seditions, in this period of calm, it was therefore imperative to form the soldiers of this locality to Human Rights and International Criminal Justice in order to not only enhance the image of the Ivorian Army but also and above all to prevent violations of human rights attributable to the FACI.

During two days of training, the FACI were instructed by Experts on the various topics on the menu of this seminar, namely the Code of Ethics and Deontology of the military profession, the generality on Human Rights, Justice Criminal International, Torture and Abuse, International Humanitarian Law, and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence

Through a framework of exchange and sharing of experiences, the FACI have become familiar with the various topics discussed and have nourished the pleasure of disseminating their knowledge to their brothers in arms.
